Barnet Medieval Festival is London’s only medieval festival of its kind and is dedicated to engaging people in the history of the Battle of Barnet and its significance within the Wars of the Roses. Fought on 14th April 1471, the Battle of Barnet saw Edward IV lead his Yorkist army to victory against the Lancastrian forces led by the Earl of Warwick.
The Festival team is putting all its energy into planning this year’s Medieval Festival, which will take place at Barnet Elizabethans RFC on the weekend of 11th and 12th September 2021. We will be commemorating the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Barnet with a special programme of battle re-enactments, gunnery, archery displays, living history encampments, music and dance, a medieval market and children’s activities.
