What You can Expect this year at Herstmonceux Castle on 27, 28 & 29 August 2022
– Morning Artillery Siege of the Castle and Afternoon Battle of Herstmonceux with Hundred’s of Knights in armour
– Knights Jousting (twice per day)
– Horseback Skill-at-Arms Show
– Grand Parade each Afternoon
– Archery Tournament – traditional longbow, handbow and crossbow
– Devilstick Peat, Puppet Shows, Theatre Shows, Minstrels, Dance, Music & Drummers
– Colourful Medieval Living History tents will be placed all around the Castle Grounds
– Medieval re-enactors demonstrating their skills (at a safe distance behind rope lines)
– Medieval, Craft & Retail and Food/Drink Traders Market
– Have-a-go activities children and adults: : archery, axe throwing, blacksmithing, calligraphy, chain mail, copper bowls making and much more
– Food Traders and Bars serving local ales
– Entry to the castle courtyard across the moat, through the outdoor courtyard and into the walled gardens
– Woodland Trails, Magic Gardens and a Rope Maze
